The Secret Book Summary

THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne

The Law of Attraction is a world-widely known law that states that the power of one's thoughts has a very strong attraction, the more you think of negative things or situations, the more you attract them. The law of attraction is known as the secret or the secret of the greats, it is the law that has changed the lives of many people, and is the individual's use of his mental powers to focus on everything he desires.

With the pursuit of a dream and positive thinking about it, the chance of achieving it becomes greater, and to work successfully, the law of attraction requires that the individual perform daily exercises that enable him to use the law of attraction effectively.

The Secret is a bestselling self-help book of 2006 by Rhonda Byrne. His idea is based on the Law of Attraction and he claims that positive thinking can create better life outcomes such as an increase in wealth, health, and happiness.

It has sold more than 21 million copies and has been translated into 44 languages. Before that, the writer released a documentary film of the same name, where the writer says that positive thinking can produce realistic and tangible positive results in life, and that negative thoughts can attract negative things in life and this is what establishes the law of attraction.

Summary of The Secret

In general, the summary of the book The Secret is based on the fact that the entire universe is governed by a general law, which is the “law of attraction,” which its owners claim that it works by attracting events, individuals, experiences, and other things that correspond to a person’s thinking and feelings. You can create life-changing events and make it better.

Rhonda Byrne has simplified the secret further by describing it as a neutral and exact law like the law of gravitation. The nature of our thinking, whether it is good or bad, is closely related to our feelings. It does not happen that our feelings are good at the same time that we have bad thoughts, and certainly, the opposite is true.

The essence of the book The Secret in 3 lessons:

1. The Law of Attraction is one of the most widely held principles in the world.

2. To use the Law of Attraction, you must think about what you want, not what you want to avoid.

3. The three steps of the Law of Attraction are Ask, Believe, and Receive.

Do you have a big and crazy vision? Here's how to prepare yourself to make it happen.

Lesson 1: One of the most powerful rules in life is the Law of Attraction.

While Byrne packaged the idea in a new way, which captivated the masses, the law of attraction itself is as old as we are. In essence, the Law of Attraction states that what you think and feel determines what you will attract into your life.

The concept has been written into self-help books as something, but in different terms, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Master Key System by Charles Hanell, The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles, they all describe it in different ways. For example, if you focus on all the negative comments you get as an artist, you will likely encourage more criticism. Likewise, it is hard to imagine someone who hates money to get rich, etc.

The book is often criticized for its excessive focus on the rule of law. While there is a concept in psychology called introductory, which shows that we act intuitively based on influences, you can't live your entire life this way. So, yes, it is important to put yourself in the right state of mind to achieve your goals, but that alone will not do the trick.

Lesson 2: The Law of Attraction only works when you think about the positives, not the negatives.

Another case study of the Law of Attraction is that of Jim Carrey, who, funny enough, discussed his experience with Oprah in 1997, before she also knew about The Secret. As an aspiring actor, Carrey would stop on his way home every night and think about and fantasize about his future accomplishments.

He even wrote himself a check for $10 million and dated him for 5 years. Look, he ended up already collecting that amount from Dumb and Dumber, on deadline. What's remarkable about the way Carrey did this, which Rhonda says is a prerequisite for the law of attraction to work, is that he always envisioned the positives that would come in his life, rather than the negatives he was trying to avoid.

When it comes to our inner monologue, loss aversion is a powerful driving force. We worry more about losing what we have than about getting what we want. This is why most of us play unconsciously so as not to lose, instead of playing to win. In part, this is why people who take more risks have less competition.

Additionally, if you are trying to convince yourself, framing something as a gain seems more persuasive than promoting fear.

Lesson 3: For your dreams to manifest, you must ask, believe, and receive.

Besides regularly thinking about, visualizing, and framing your goals in a positive light, Rhonda suggests an actual three-step process you can use to make the Law of Attraction work for you:

* The demand. This is about being specific about what you want out of life. Ambiguous questions get mysterious answers. Write what you want from a gratitude perspective: “I am grateful to have (such and such..).

* Honesty. If you don't have a firm belief in your goal, why should others believe in it? This is about radiating confidence, so that the people you meet will support you along the way.

* Visualization. Imagine how you will feel once you achieve your goal. How would life be? Imagine that. This will direct your actions in the right direction.

Again, the law of attraction only works if you do.” So think positive, prepare for success, pay attention, and then work like crazy to get what you want.
